Proceedings on Business, Informatics, and Computing (PBIC) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and upholds the integrity of the academic record. All parties involved in the publication process — authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers — are expected to follow ethical principles as outlined below.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given through accurate citation.

  • Plagiarism in all its forms, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.

  • Authors should disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that might influence their work.

  • The corresponding author must confirm that all listed authors have made a significant contribution to the research and have approved the final version of the manuscript.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair and transparent review process.

  • Decisions to accept or reject a paper must be based solely on the paper’s scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the proceedings’ focus and scope.

  • Editors must maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not use any part of the unpublished work for personal advantage.

  • Editors should take appropriate measures when ethical misconduct or plagiarism is detected.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers assist the editors in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts.

  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the review process and should not use any unpublished material for personal research.

  • Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing clear and constructive feedback.

  • Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline review if necessary.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining the integrity of the publication process.

  • In cases of proven misconduct, plagiarism, or fraudulent publication, the publisher will take appropriate action, such as issuing corrections, retractions, or statements of concern.

PBIC follows the ethical standards and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
